Several months ago while on vacation in South Africa, Ismael Donzo and his best friend took an unplanned detour on their road trip and traveled to a small remote village. They stumbled upon an opportunity to visit a local orphanage and meet some of the children attending school there. The surprised principal told them "not too many people come to see our school". Delighted by their new visitors, the principal brought out all the students, who joyfully greeted Ismael and his friend with a mix of excitement and curiosity. Little did they know their lives would be forever impacted.

Ismael and Linda met over eight years ago when he was a high school student at the Washington HS of Information Technology in Milwaukee, WI. Ismael was selected as one of her first student's to participate in a high school STEM bootcamp, and later became a college intern with an interest in cyber security. While Linda and Ismael both went separate ways in their career, they always stayed connected. Ismael is now excelling in a professional career in IT and looks for ways in which he can give back. This is also a passion of our company.

During a conversation between Linda and Ismael one day, he shared his experience from that trip to South Africa. He was gathering donations of school supplies, used and new, for a school that has little to no resources available to them. While Respectful Recruiting made a financial donation to his cause, there's much more to this story and what Ismael and his friend are doing. Stay tuned for part two!
